The March 2022 issue of the SJIAOS (Volume 38 Issue 1) has the special theme of “The 50 x 2030 Initiative on Agriculture Statistics”. It also features interviews with Misha Belkindas, IAOS President, on the 2021 – 2023 Strategy, and Mario Palma (IAOS President 2017-2019) about his recent book on the history of INEGI. The issue also presents the Quality Framework for Statistical Algorithms (QF4SA), as well as recommendations for NSOs considering the use of machine learning in the production of official statistics.
The June 2022 issue of the SJIAOS (Volume 38 Issue 2) to be published around mid-June will contain a manifold of manuscripts stemming from sessions from the 2021 ISI WSC and the 2021 UN World Data Forum in Bern. The funding of Official Statistics is dealt with in contributions by Hallgrimur Snorrason, John Pullinger and Andreas Georgiou. Innovation of Official Statistics is discussed in two contributions: for the European Statistical System countries by Baldacci and others and for the US by Lisa Mirel ao. Other sections discuss the role of Standards, Statistical Literacy, and SDG-related themes.
The December issue of the SJIAOS also launched a discussion on the Official Statistics discussion platform on the vital topic of Measuring and official statistics on difficult to measure groups.
The latest discussion on the Official Statistics discussion platform on the topic of “Large international projects on the development of official statistics, the 50x2030 initiative as an example”. This discussion is triggered by the special section on the 50x2030 Initiative in the March 2022 issue of the SJIAOS.
