Jana Asher appointed Chair of the ISI Committee on the History of Statistics

On 31 March 2022, the ISI Executive Committee appointed Dr. Jana Asher, Assistant Professor and Director of Statistics Education at Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania in the United States, as Chair of the ISI Committee on the History of Statistics with effect from 1 April 2022.

Dr. Asher succeeded the previous Chair, Peter Guttorp, who has done an excellent work in chairing the Committee. We would like to express our great appreciation to Peter for his invaluable contribution, energy and commitment to the role.

The Committee on the History of Statistics maintains an archive of articles on the history of statistics; it documents the history of the ISI, its Associations, and national statistical organizations and develops new initiatives in areas of interest to the community.
