Please join us for the LISA 2020 Symposium Keynote and Celebration Event on the World Statistics Day - 20 October 2020, from 14:00–15:30 UTC.

LISA 2020 is a program to build statistical analysis and data science capacity in developing countries to transform evidence into action. We do this by helping to create statistics and data science collaboration laboratories (“stat labs”). The program is sponsored by the ISI Statistical Capacity Building Committee. LISA 2020 stat labs have three missions:

  1. Train statisticians and data scientists to become effective, interdisciplinary collaborators who can move between theory and practice to solve problems for real-world impact;
  2. Serve as research infrastructure for researchers and decision-makers to collaborate with statisticians and data scientists to enable and accelerate research and data-based decisions that make a positive impact on society;
  3. Teach short courses and workshops to improve statistical skills and data literacy widely.

LISA 2020 is centred at the Laboratory for Interdisciplinary Statistical Analysis (LISA) at the University of Colorado Boulder. Since its creation in 2012, the goal of LISA 2020 has been to create a network of at least 20 stat labs in developing countries by 2020 (hence the name “LISA 2020”)—specifically by October 20, 2020, which is the UN-designated World Statistics Day.

Please join us for the LISA 2020 Symposium Keynote and Celebration Event on Tuesday 20 October 2020 from 14:00–15:30 UTC (convert to your local time zone here). Participants must register in advance at to be emailed the private Zoom link.
