ISI Multilingual Glossary of Statistical Terms

With the addition of the Korean language the ISI Multilingual Glossary of Statistical Terms now contains statistical terms in 31 languages. The Korean addition was made possible by the help of two Korean students, Ms. Sunmee Kim and Mr. Soo Hyun Jung, who completed an internship at the ISI Permanent Office in the summer of 2010. We would like to thank them for their valuable help and enthusiasm in conducting this impressive work. You may read interviews with them (published in 2010) on the ISI website: http://www.isi-web.org/about/interns-interviews.

In addition, some 15,000 terms have been updated with the help of comments from users of the Glossary and by using Google translate. A great number of these items are in the languages Danish, Norvegian, Swedish, Icelandic, Slovenian, Greek, Euskara. Most of them are trial versions and, as always, we invite the ISI membership to contribute to the work of the Glossary by checking terms in their own language and giving feedback to Mr. Johan Dragt, who works on this project as a volunteer at the ISI Permanent Office.

The ISI Multilingual Glossary of Statistical Terms is a valuable instrument and the aim is to keep it updated and actual. Additional languages are very welcome. If you wish to contribute, please let us know and we will be happy to provide you with further information.

It is equally appreciated if you could help with the promotion of the Glossary by giving attention to it in your institution or in publications and websites.
