ISI Young Statisticians Committee
Participants at the ISI World Statistics Congresses in Lisboa (2007) and Durban (2009), may have noticed that small events at the start of the WSCs were organized for the young attendees. In the spirit of continuity and recognizing that young statisticians are key to the ISI’s future, as well as that the ISI can play a role in their careers, the ISI Council established a working group that is the Young Statisticians Committee. The aim of this Committee is to identify ways of encouraging active participation from young statisticians within the ISI community. The Committee’s purpose is to identify where the ISI can help young statisticians from different regions of the world. Events for young statisticians were also in the works for the ISI World Statistics Congress in Dublin, Ireland, in August 2011.
