2013 International Year of Statistics: 10% Increase in Registrations during the Last Month

The 2013 International Year of Statistics is getting more and more support. Only during the last month (since 20 July) the number of participants has increased by 10% and now includes 630 organisations and institutions, representing 93 countries. If your organisation hasn’t registered yet, we invite you to do so via the Statistics 2013 site http://statistics2013.org.

The steering committee of the Statistics 2013 has announced a video contest to help launch this worldwide celebration of the positive impact of statistical science. Cash prizes will be offered for the best videos. A workshop titled “Future Research Directions in Statistical Sciences: Opportunities and Challenges” is being planned for late next year. An organizing committee with representatives from several societies including the ISI are now working on the design of the workshop.
