New ISI Journal Stat Launched!

 

The ISI now has a second journal, to complement the International Statistical ReviewStat, a joint venture between the ISI and Wiley-Blackwell, is a new online journal aimed at rapid communication of statistical research results. It was launched officially at the end of July at the Joint Statistical Meetings in San Diego. The journal is free to members of the ISI and its Associations.

 

What makes Stat different?

  • Speed: a single pass, high quality review process that aims to publish acceptable articles within 30 days of submission, but does not allow for revision and resubmission. 
  • Concision: a maximum article length of 10 pages of text, excluding Abstract, Key words, figures and tables.
  • Support: inclusion of electronic support materials including data, graphs, images, video and code
  • Scope: addresses all areas of statistics and interdisciplinary areas
  • Electronic Delivery: delivery of articles and innovative forms of supplementary materials, using technology to allow readers to access and connect with content in novel ways.

 

The Editor-in-Chief is Nicholas Fisher, and the Editorial Board consists of David Balding, David Banks, Giuseppe Cavaliere, Probal Chaudhuri, Holger Dette, Arnoldo Frigessi, Marc Genton, Karen Kafadar, John Kolassa, Ja-Yong Koo, Thomas Lumley, Xiao-Li Meng, and David Stephens.
