How to Apply for ISI Elected Membership

The ISI Membership Elections are held four times a year under the authority of the ISI Membership Elections Committee, whose recommendations are subject to the approval of the ISI Executive Committee.

Elected members are elected by virtue of their contributions to:

  • the development or application of statistical methods, or
  • the administration of statistical services, or
  • the development and improvement of statistical education.

The procedure develops along the following lines:

  1. If you would like to apply for elected membership in the ISI or nominate someone who you believe to be deserving and interested in ISI membership, please complete and return the Presentation of Candidate form to the ISI Permanent Office (o.vandijck-timbol @ cbs .nl) in Word format by one of the dates shown in the table below.
  2. Candidates for elected membership must be supported by three existing elected or honorary ISI members referred to as “sponsors”. A list of ISI members can be found on the ISI website. The ISI Permanent Office will contact the three sponsors to verify their support of the candidate.
  3. For a successful election please make sure that the information requested in the candidate form is as complete as possible. The Membership Elections Committee will assess the candidate based on the information provided.
