The Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science at the Georg-August-University of Göttingen, Germany invites applicants for a position of a
PhD-Student
(salary based on a German TV-L 13 Scale)
to begin on March 1, 2013 at the Institute for Mathematical Stochastics.
The position is for a period of 3 years based on a 50% of the regular working time (currently 19.9 hours/ week) and can be increased to 75% after one year at the latest.
Research topics lie in the areas of point processes/ spatial stochastic processes and spatial statistics, possibly including the consideration of temporal components.
The successful candidate ideally has profound knowledge in spatial statistics or the theory of spatial stochastic processes, and some programming experience (for example in R, C(++), or Fortran).
