ISI Latin American Outreach Committee

 

The Council also endorsed the creation of a new Latin American Outreach Committee that will intensify the interaction between the statisticians from countries in the region with the ISI and all of its Associations. The first Chair is Pedro Morettin and ISI members are invited to contact Pedro if they wish to learn more about the plans of the Committee. The Latin American Outreach Committee is the third of its kind within the ISI, next to the East Asian Outreach Committee and the Khawarezmi Committee on Statistics for the Arab Region.

 

Some points the Committee has chosen for future actions:

1) Try to identify possible members for ISI an its Associations in each country;

2) Identify possible lines of cooperation between ISI and National Statistical Societies;

3) Identify countries which do not yet have a NSS and see what can be done to help
