Voting Process for ISI’s Revised  Statutes and By-Laws Starts on 1st of April 2011

 

ISI elected en ex-officio members will receive soon the invitation and material for the voting about the revised Statutes and By-Laws of ISI. They are invited to express their votes. The documents will be sent by postal mail to the ISI membership on 15 March 2011.

The voting period runs from 1 April – 30 June 2011.

 

The most important changes in the new Statutes and By-Laws are:

  • Introduction of a new category of individual membership that is open to everyone. The current category of elected membership will be retained.
  • Modernising the governance and organisational structure of the ISI and clarifying the roles of the General Assembly, Sections, Council and Executive Committee.
  • Improving the nomination process for President-Elect and Vice-Presidents.
  • Modernising the voting process and communication by using electronic means.
  • Reduction of working languages of the ISI and the World Statistics Congress to English
  • Updating the Statutes and By-Laws and making them conform to Dutch Law.

 

Help us to keep the ISI as a vital and dynamic organisation by expressing your vote. Keep a close look to your mailbox and email for receiving more news soon. You will be asked to indicate a ‘yes’ or ‘no’ vote on the electronic voting form or the mail ballot.
